Until I Fly.

There's a smell of chaos on the wind tonight,
The scent of mischief,
And I am intoxicated by the very air.

Dancing through the dark,
With a wish in my hand
And a song on my lips,
The whole wide world is small.

All the little things are lost,
Because I'm twirling away
To the sound of the next best song.

And I'm never as alive as I am
when I can't feel the sting,
It was never so easy to escape
as when the ache is dull.

All I feel is me,
The rest is gone,
Forgotten with the light.

What if I could run
until I fly,
What if there's only this one night?

A night, a year, a life
Is all I ask.
To wander and wonder and believe.

We're spinning so sweetly into forever.

  • Love it...

Thoughtful narrative with a dark undercurrent & wonderful imagery & flow that made for a compelling read & captivated throughout with a killer ending that holds some great connotations & slips beautifully from the tongue...
    Impressive as always...
    Keep up the good work...
    Well done!!!

  • I can relate, sometimes it takes time though to let ourselves 'fly' we need to let ourselves grow first. Nice thoughts here.
