Paper flowers...
Scattered as far as the eye can see
I linger there watching them flow in the wind
As rain drops fall from the sky
Here I lay
In my sleeping refuge
Among my field of paper flowers
Laying inside myself
Swallowed up in this field of flowers
Paper flowers
And candy clouds of my lullaby
And purple skies lay above me
Singing ever so softly to me
My candy clouded lullaby
And the winds whisper to me
My sweet lullaby
My paper flowers
My refuge away from the screaming monsters
Of grief and guilt
With this rampant chaos
My reality
So, I lay inside myself
To stop my screaming
I long for my deep sleep dreaming
Death, my only and final rest
My field of paper flowers
Begin to fad
As I return to my painful reality
Author notes
"I lie inside myself for hours
And watch my purple sky fly over me"
