So much, so often lately, love;
I find my thoughts are on you.
Feelings over which I have no control;
Pain I don't want to go through.
With the errors of my ways,
I face the repercussions of my mistakes.
Time has changed nothing, it's still the same.
Each day without you, my heart breaks.
I want so badly to run straight to you;
Just as selfish as I can be.
Take you far away from the rest of the world;
Where it is only you and me.
Like it is in my dreams.
Time passes by in years, not days,
It's been too long; I wish you were here now.
So I could hear your voice, and see your eyes-
I couldn't stand it, I've forgotten how.
Would I be alright if you never knew?
If I just saw you from afar?
It would not subside the longing in my heart,
but at least I would know how you are.
So much, so often lately, love,
The torment within me is screaming.
When reality stabs me in the back
With its cruelty that shadows my dreaming...

a good poem penned with a fine pen, ah time, the perception of time, isn't it crazy that when we are feeling low, like with heartache and missing someone, time does stretch out, yet when we are in the throes of happiness, it vanishes so quickly. it should be the other way around.

When the heart and head join, inflicting self torture of memories and moments rehashed one finds turmoil surmounting all around. Confusion lurks, incompleteness surfaces. You have captured these emotions well within this piece. Keep them coming and stay true to yourself and your heart and soul and you shall find the way.

Poetry, like any medium, is a wonderful way to express feelings and thoughts. You have tendered feelings dear to your heart and bared them for all in your poem.
I loved the repetition of the first two lines which I think have added power to your poem.
Many will be able to relate to the same feelings, heavens we have all loved and lost in one way or another.
Thank you for a lovely read. ~The Blue Lamp Post

Yes, sometimes reality is torture compared to what you're dreaming. When you're so sure that things shouldn't be the way they are, but then you just can't change what's happening. *sigh* I guess that's where acceptance comes into play, but it's so hard to accept most of the time. Well, I know you'll find the peace and tranquility you need when that something better that you deserve comes along, whether it's your surroundings or your perspective that changes. Either way, I hope the best for you. ♥

It's been so long since I've read something from you.... this is a great write, and sadly something that I can definitely relate to very much. Who are you writing about ?
I find that when I write a piece like this, there is always an inspiration to that-- someone that its always about
I love the rhyming technique you used with this ... its definitely a great write Michele!
Miss You! Stop being a Stranger!!
P.S. I went to Minnesota the other day

Thanks Mandy, you know I love getting your comments!
I will fill you in on the inspiration! However, my laptop is currently broken
...it's going in first thing tomorrow!! I miss you much, you're one of the few people I feel like I can trust with my secrets and one of the only people I feel like I can really talk to... and lately (ha, hence the poem) I'm having some issues, of course.

This is a good poem. I suppose you'll never know if you don't try, but from what I know about the situation there are risks. That is with anything, and it's up to you to make it right. Wheter that be by means of confronting the issue or accepting that the answer isn't worth it. I'm sure that I'm pointing out the obvious, but I'll do my best to help.
Take care,

Although this poem touches on the serious you have composed a wonderful cadence with a fancy free flow and rhyme. This is good stuff!
