Like Jesus …

Like Jesus, Christians ought to bear a cross,
And carry it in His foot-steps and fall;
And drink from cup for sake of God though gall,
And walk to Calvary for Christ’s one cause!

Like Jesus, Christians must suffer a lot,
And live a humble life in ways of God,
To reach eternal bliss of Lord’s abode:
By death on cross, we sinners are all bought!

Like Jesus, Christians obey Our Father,
And reach Him through their incessant prayer,
And intercession by Mary Mother;
Our earthly problems, we will not bother!

Like Jesus, Christians will suffer great loss;
Be humiliated for no crimes of ours;
Be ridiculed and flayed, without a cause;
God is our leader, rear-guard and our Boss!

    I agree with this poem, it's beautiful! We as Christians do need to follow in Jesus' steps, following His every example. There is nothing that we may encounter that Christ didn't already experience and provide strength for us. In Him, we have everything, and need nothing. He is totally worthy of our praise!

    Thank you for this great poem, I love the diction and structure. It all works together really well to create one lovely piece of writing.

    The only thing I would point out (and this, of course, is just a difference of belief), but I don't believe that Mary is necessary for reaching God. Of course Mary was virtuous and holy, she was chosen by God after all! I just have to think, though, that placing Mary between ourselves and God negates what Jesus Christ did. To me, Jesus is our mediator. He is the only one we need, the only one we will ever need.

    But that is just me, and regardless of that point, your poem is great. Lovely!
