We have become a society of convenience. A world of the now generation.
Patience long ago lost. If one has to wait its almost as if the world itself is
coming to an abrupt halt. Ive seen it too much, first hand. The driver in the
car behind you doesn't think the speed limit is enough so they speed past
you. Waiting in a check out line is intolerable. There's always one person who
acts a fool if they have to wait their turn. Back in the day water came from a
well. Today you can purchase a plastic bottle of water just about anywhere. We
think nothing of tossing that plastic bottle in the trash. Where does it end up in
the long run? That's right. Your local landfill where it will stay until most of
your future generations have ceased to exist.
Gas prices go up and we complain. Rightfully so it would seem. Try this instead.
Those plastic bottles are made from the same oil as your gasoline. Stop buying
them period. We generate the need. The demand. Think it can't help? Imagine
if every single person on this planet did not purchase ONE bottle of water. That
would equal out to how many barrels of oil?
In our rush to move life along we have corrupted a great many traditions as well
as the very planet we live upon. There has to be a fast food venue on just about
every corner. Why have dinner at home when you can speed through the drive
through and grab something hot and quick? Never mind that most fast food is
unhealthy. In turn we pay high insurance premiums and need to see the Doctor
a lot more!
The faster something is, the misconception is, the better it is! We no longer take
pride in quality. It is all about quantity. We sacrifice instead and it has become
acceptable. What about pride in what you do? It's ridiculous.
Who would have ever imagined the mighty Polar Bear on the endangered species
list? Saddest of all is that it is not even this great animals fault. It's mine, it's yours
and the person next to me and even the one around the corner. I can not even
fathom my species becoming extinct at the hand of another creature I inhabit this
planet with! Can you?
There is so much controversy over Global warming and if it is real or not! Ask
the mighty Polar Bear! If he could talk what do you suppose he would say? The
issue isn't if it is true or not. The issue is protecting this great planet we live
upon and preserving her for our future generations. They did not create our
waste there for they should not have to live with it and the cause and effect
of it!
