A haunting lullaby
Hushed by the sighs of your vanity,
Falls into a gentle slumber
On the pillow of your dreams.
Innocence Lost in the maze,
Dragged by the gullible whims of the heart
Loses the road, leading to the easing silence,
Forgetting the whispers of my unconditional love.
Author notes
I am that missing innocence, I have forgotten the love my mom holds for me!!!

Very thought provoking indeed. Many a times innocence is traded for something which is not even half its worth, all for the whims of the heart. True, true... Painfully true.

a good poem, the first two lines especially stand out to me - sighs of vanity is a strong image when with hushed.
