Let me say right off this is not a POEM.
Its whats happening where I live now. ( so Just an entry)
Spring is finally here
dogwoods are in bloom
winter is back.
Now spring is here
blackberries are in bloom
winter is back.
Now spring is realy here
elderberries are in bloom
winter is back.
Finally finally finally\
dogwoods are all dressed in green
blackberries hanging on the vines
elderberries being made into wine.
Spring is...? oh no
it's summertime.

The weather seems to be going crazy everywhere for the past couple of years. Your poem is right on, Ed. What's happening to our seasons ??
This is a delightful piece, though, and I enjoyed reading it. Wishing you best of luck in the contest

I think you are having the same kind of spring we had..winter one day. summer the next and then winter again...see sawing back and forth...I am still waiting for spring so I can do some of the things I like to do before it gets too hot but think it passed us by this year,,,It is hot again...Nice piece you write here...Good luck in the contest...

I don't have elderberries, but I am familiar with the concept of a lingering winter leading right into summer. I like this humorous take on it. A pleasure to read.
