There was a time we lived as one,
where I kept you safe,
from the heat of the sun,
and horror of the world.
When our lives were intertwined,
I kept you steady.
Easy flowing as best I could,
trouble would never reach you.
But as the waves of the sea,
and the night of day,
Have a time to be there,
Also to have a time to leave.
As the stars go,
they leave dust,
and as the waves disperse,
they leave a wake.
They never leave their life,
Without leaving a memory.
Some part of them is always there,
So they are never forgotten.
A memory will always stay,
after the present has long gone.
Leave if you want to,
but give something for me to remember.

this was good, though I didn't like how many words from the actual song you used in your poem.
the last line was a really great ending. :]
best of luck and thanks for entering! :]
