D,
why a D?
I stared at the whiteness unblinking,
the whiteness of notepad,
devoid and empty,
with things to say
(Too many things,
you would agree,
had you heard me
converse with me)
but all I managed was a lone D,
a capital D, specifically.
What was I thinking?
Maybe subconscious had something to say.
Have you, subconscious, something to say?
Does it start with a D?
A capital D, specifically?
Maybe with hand at the home row,
I hit the D
accidentally.
But why a D?
a capital D, specifically?
I shut my eyes to stop thinking.
Blackness envelops me.
I stare at the darkness unblinking,
the darkness within
I dare not explore.
And here I be,
evasively
avoiding the real
and thinking of D.
Don't you get it?
Can't you see?
For as intriguing as the darkness can be
I choose to pursue the meaning of D,
specifically,
the lone meaningless capital D.
Author notes
I had something to write about, but after a little while I found myself staring at a notepad window with just a D in it.

I must say, I am quite in love with this poem. I love the simple rythm and rhyme, and the repition really hit home on the idea of a mania.
The whole thing has a very interesting feel to it, I like it.

Interesting, intriguing, makes you think. Did you ever do anything with that D, or did it sink into your past as just a D?

I don't think you need to change anything about this poem. I have seriously done the same thing. I felt the same way.
