Pictures.

Pictures.
Smiling faces, gleaming eyes.
Family stories, never verbalized.
Impossible bravery, preposterous hope.
To think of seeing her again was some cruel joke.
Explosion, light, stars on earth.
Glowing trees and one last sense of hope.
He was gone but she was here.
The least he could do was remain near.
Untold love, intense desire.
He could only imagine losing that to fire.
Odour strong and worry high.
Who would know that peace was nigh?
Shameful globe and rigorous chore.
He died without her, he died in war.

Author notes

This won some sort of contest in English Class ... so now it's gonna be in a book? I don't know all the details but it's a big deal, apparently ... I was inspired by John Edward. If you don't know him, I highly suggest you google him. He's amazing ... I was a skeptic too at one point but after watching him for a while I finally got it ...
