The first time that I saw you-still feels like yesterday,
just like a grain of sugar my heart dissolved away.
A smile that lit each morning, a wink that seemed to say,
'it's gonna be alright lass the sun will shine today'.
Your music hit the airwaves and made it to the top,
it gave a whole new meaning to music known as 'pop'.
On record or on TV my heart would skip a beat,
a face all flushed with passion those busy tapping feet.
I envied every woman who hung upon your arm,
such subtle wit and wisdom and yet a boyish charm.
And still today I cherish those thoughts I had of you,
your voice brought happy moments and put things into view.
There'll always be that picture of you and 'Yesterday',
just like a ray of sunshine you chased my blues away.

A bit twee I know-but he was my first 'crush' (I still carry a bit of a torch!)

He was cute wasn't he with that very sweet grin. I need a white flag to wave here but I was never much of Beatles fan although I did like some of their songs. You are allowed to be a bit twee, you were so young and you have captured the magic of those times like it was Yesterday. Younger folk couldn't know how special those years were.
