The Last Chapter

I talked to a friend
from out of my past
The relation that we had
I thought that it'd last
but we had grown tired
of a telephone affair
with such a distance between us
I felt it unfair
An imaginary love
many emotions we'd shared
but the touching of our bodies
we had not dared
for I had a woman
and she had her man
and for any consummation
many times we had planned.

That time in October
when we were to meet
just for her touch
would sure have been sweet.
But she could not make it
although I was there
this cause our relation
to form a big tear.
For this really hurt me
bought a tear to my eye
and when I talked to her
I had asked her why?
Why I had been stood up
for many plans I had made
despite all my feelings
I felt I'd got played.

Excuses there were many
but I felt she'd let me down
I 'd really wanted to meet her
but in my mind
she'd let me down.

We're now once again talking
another meeting has been set
although my heart was broken
I won't give up just yet.
