My Requisite Poem On Love

All good writers have a view of Love.
I've studied them, I should know.
Love is incredibly oppressive,
Or Love can set you free.

Love is everything and nothing.
A kind word on that day you feel like everything is wrong.
A phone call unexpected that results in stomach-churning
Laughter for all those times you need it.

Love is living
For yourself and no one else, regardless of what "they" say.
Before expectedly Loved, yourself you must
Give in to all those wild ideas we hide from the
World, even if "they" might not agree.

Love is not acceptance.
The world at large doesn't have to care
About you, your feelings, or how you're dressed.
Little Red Buttons don't mean much
In the Real World.

The ones that matter to you in your everyday life should
Love you

For your words, your manner, that skip in your step
That sets their mind at ease, playing Mommy
Or Daddy
Or both.

Love is God. Love is more than God, grander, beyond Him.




Love is you.
