Scouring the stores for miles
around, not a yellow teddy
bear to be found - what is
this drive I have to find a
small yellow teddy bear?
I collect bears, yes, more on
a rescue basis - I buy them
from antique stores where
they are wanted no more
or used/RE stores on sale.
I give them a new home and
love, though my oldest teddy
Thaddeus dominates them
all, I hold each one dear, all
nine teddy bears in my room.
There's Thaddeus, Sunkiss,
Brownie, Bailey, Baker,
Oswald, Dewdrop Finnegan,
Luv and recently I bought
a 2004 Beanie Baby I renamed:
He's an Easter teddy, white
with a pattern of Easter eggs
of bright yellow and pink -
I named him Precious Sam,
because that's what he is.
I know you're aching in pain,
perhaps wondering why or
what's to blame, but I think
you'd best get a teddy for
yourself and your beloved
friend's memory...

Hummm not exactly what I was looking for in this contest however, that does not mean that this is a bad write. No by far it isn't. I do like it. Pleasant write. And yes, teddy bears do give love and help with pain. Our CABG patients, which are open heart patients from certain hospitals get teddy bears to hug when they are trying to sit or lie down... or they use it when they cough to support their chests which are very sore from the surgery. Also, I do love the background that you have here. Great job. Thanks for sharing this with us. And a very good write.
