When you run and play,
And you jump for joy,
When you work hard all day,
And try your very best;
It makes my heart burst with love!
When you take a challenge,
And you see it through,
When you touch your star,
And reach even more;
I'm just as happy as you are!
When you visit my place,
And I hear your voice,
When I see your face,
And when you smile at me;
It really makes me feel so glad!
When you wear your heart
On your long arm-sleeve,
As you care for all,
And your child stands tall;
It really makes my glad heart sing!
When once again you try,
And you fall in love,
But what you get is rain,
And you cry in pain;
It really makes my sad heart cry…
When you read my poems,
And you try to see
My point of view,
And you laugh with me;
I know that you are on my side!
When you send a special note,
And you give me a rose,
When you spend time with me,
Your loving spirit shows;
I am so happy I’m your Mom!
When you share in this world,
And you give your heart,
When you lend a hand,
And you do your part;
I am very proud you are my Sons!
