Fly away dear memory,
Holding stead in flight,
Glisten golden feathers,
Float beyond the horizon,
I call upon you memory,
Come back to me at last,
My time has come,
My life was fast,
I call upon you at last,
Gentle whisper heard from you,
It rings within my ears,
You tell me of my forgotten days,
Those spent alone with fear,
Caress my mind with wings of peace,
Rememberance of my mother,
So sweet and gentle was,
Kind words and warmth,
I call upon you memory,
Come back to me at last,
My time has come,
My life was fast,
I call upon you at last,
Now but may I ask one thing of you,
Help me trail through 80 years of memory,
So we can depart in peace...Forevermore.
