mournful sound from a lone whip poor will
made his depressed mind stir with a chill
when a near by weeping willow shed huge tears
created a river that swept him to the majestic seas
crashing waves tossed him around and around
finally threw him upon the warm sandy ground
he lay in the sand exhausted and wet
still in depression never lifted as yet
had lost everything he cared most about
his woman, his lover, his friend, his spouse
in the distance he looked shading his eyes
a mermaid watched him in pleasant surprise
she beckoned him there to stand by her side
the willow had brought him back to his bride
