Day after day
You asked me if you could
All you wanted was a chance
To kiss my lips
Every time you asked
I denied you permission
Things must go slowly
Like down syndrome snails
Two months together
Sneaking out at 2am
You turned my head
Whispered the request
Once more I told you no
Too soon to move forward
Your adorable pouting face
Made me grant you my cheek
Outside the house we sit
I'm on your lap, you ask again
It's your birthday
Why won't I give you this gift
I look you in the eyes
And say not just yet
I want to wait more
So that it's special
That same night we walk
To the park on the corner
You're so anxious for a yes
We lay on the jungle gym
Looking up into the stars
I smile while you hold me
Before you see it coming
My lips lock onto yours
Both of our very first kisses
Just as innocent as the playground
Laughing and kissing, we roll
Under the dim desert stars
Your face glowing bright
From the light of streetlamps
You thank me quietly
Kisses speak my next words
Hands locked together
We walk light-heartedly
Stopping every few steps
To relive our happiest moment
Again and again

T3fs is a very beautifkl poem. The imagery and the plot line to this carelfully constructed dedication to love was constructed beautifully.
Good luck in the contest and thanks for entering, and forever have an open and loving heart. Take your time, but don't wait too long.
