Repopulate

You are my world, and I swore I'd never say that to anyone
I also said I'd never love a girl
A woman
But here I am –
Your hand clasped in mine
We're walking through space and time
Like we're all that's left and God told us to resurrect creation
But God must have been wrong because our equation doesn't add up
To birth
For what it's worth, I would love to repopulate the earth with you
Made in God's image, who created and loved
I believe we're birthing the very best of us
In words and in song and each step of this long path we're on
And God is never wrong
God who put the stars in the sky put that sparkle in your eye
And taught me what it was to drop everything and fly
So when it's just you and I on this barren land
We will walk through it, hand in hand, breathing life into dirt
From which flowers will burst
Walking up mountains to see infinity that we can never hold
And our creation will be bold like we are and gentle like star dust
Falling on all of us again
So when humanity destroys itself in violent war
We won’t have the ability to create anymore,
But we can sing ideas into truth and that creation into being
Because belief comes from seeing
And I've seen all the truth I need in your heart
For what it's worth, I would love to be a part
Of repopulating the earth
