Words Unspoken

Many times a silence forms
Between the words that are spoken
And in this silence a mystery lies
That's caused by hidden emotion.

Worst of all, it could be caused
By a person trying to hide
Behind false words and feelings
When first they begin to lie.

Listen closely and you[ll learn
When they start to tell those lies
Before they cause you pain or harm
That will someday make you cry

Mostly though, they're the passing thoughts
Of times that are now long gone,
When they were having lots of fun
And something went terribly wrong

Always listen to the silence
And never let it slide
You'll often find someone beautiful
Just waiting there inside

Someone who needs a friend who understands
That life can leave a scar
And once you draw this silence out,
You can watch them reach for the stars!

aaaaaaah. Another good one. We have a lot in common.

Mostly though, they're the passing thoughts
Of times that are now long gone,
When they were having lots of fun
    And something went terribly wrong

Is silence a miracle or a curse?

A miracle or a curse..hmm To not have them would be a miracle to me..So i guess they are a curse. But to have someone, who is gentle and kind, pick up on them, and take the time to draw them out... Why, I think that is a miracle too..

Ahhh... Silence is the most beautiful sound that plays in my ears sometims. It has a splendid sound, uninhibited. Lots of times that which goes unsaid is so much more profound than what is uttered. The play I am now performing in has lots of undertones, and underlying mysteries. The audience always picks up on them. For me that is more important than the lines I convey each night in the production. We have "talk backs", and someone always says, just that. Excellent poem my friend, filled with extended silences and words that are soft-spoken. Thank you for sharing this with me, it was a delight to read.

    Much Love,
    Renee

Hence the silences of Juliet, pondering over thoughts of her life, lately! Nice.

    Brilliant Write!
Silence says so many different things, I agree...
And I take silence to be a very refreshing thing,
I analyze everything ( A persons Silence the most)
Simply a stunning poem, that speaks wonders...
Very wise to say the very least....
