lying silent and still,
I watch the amber rays
spread across the fields
as daylight caresses all
wishing upon wish
that the thousands of stars;
now hiding behind
a curtain of clouds,
remember their promise
to keep my secrets locked away
and while golden petals
kiss my cheek ever so gently
I'll pretend that my innocence
has not been shattered.
