Neanderthal man (as oppose to the modern variety):
Fresh morning dew seduces his senses
as he rises from his bed, plants his feet on living earth
skin tingling with awareness, expectation enthralling his mind
Today is the day as it always is
For he will race, fight for life
struggle with the forces of nature
to survive
And nature is far from his enemy to be raped and forced
she is his friend who offers nourishment, pleasure and life
She challenges, rewards, sutures and caresses
binds to his soul in silent words
Sophia, wisdom, reveals herself in myriad forms
His woman is the centre, the one to please
She takes him to paradise in her empathy
so he strives daily to find their food
herbs to heal, seeds and roots
Animals to strive with
whom he thanks and blesses
as they exhale their way home
He stands tall, sure, bold and serene
because he is aware that he is....
His future cousin nevertheless
does not possess his wisdom
for he strives for things beyond his needs
possessions of no worth
He flies to space to no avail
while leaving suffering behind
The jewels he gains are spent on trivia
his wife is called his chain
He wants more and so finds less
and therefore loses himself
Tragically he forces the whole of creation
to follow his demise
Yet if you perceive with clarity
the beings around
you might discover Neanderthal man
and woman still walking......

Very mind expanding. Modern man has silly values. He's been tricked into valuing the valueless. He's unconscious of the truth.

A beautiful piece of poetry! Yes indeed, the tragedy man brings upon himself putting himself above creation. Best wishes in life and the contest.

Deep write makes me think of the many different kinds of affection we as humans give one another, and the danger of holding a possessions higher then the Love, kindness, and most impoetant the grace of God...
one line is confusing to me as I read seems arkward is: Tragically he forces the whole of creation
I am sure it is just me...

I'm glad you picked up on the natural affection in humankind before possessions and technology took over. I mean it's tragic that men are leading us to our ultmate extinction.

Very interesting take on this - that the more we have (arguably) the less we appreciate it. I do so agree about the greed factor of the modern Neanderthal. Am watching the back episodes in the series "Lost" lately so this resonates nicely with that. Thanks!
