She grew up knowing what to say
How to act, how to pray
Living a life that looked so right
Always keeping in the light
Avoiding evil, appearing whole
She seemed to have a righteous soul
Everyone saw that she was good
Being pure as a Christian should
But no one saw her blackened heart
This girl had only played the part
And when the time comes to see
How angelic and God-fearing is she
A mighty hand will strike her down
A fall to make the whole world frown
For none can escape His perpetual gaze
He sees past it all to the evil of our ways
