A Letter to a Poet

Looking at the words silently among the page
What is real to you?
The void amongst the stars is your symphony
Each vignette is a gemstone to you
A gift outreaching to every expression you make

Maybe each word you say is rubaiyat to everyone
Existing to fill our world with smiles
God give us the will to understand them
It's Allogorical to each waning year
Epithet to the world please make your emotions known

Friend of a friend send a regard in meter of a kind word
Dancing into a deep wood of our waiting minds
Smile at us as the silver spring slowly withers away
Shadow of a sonnet send each inscription to us
May your expressions bring us words of true hope

In search of a lost adjective you may find kindness again
When you decant silver water to a small oak tree in your mind
It will be reflected perfectly on a waiting page
All alone and beside each one of us at the same time
Only in holiness our expressions will be as one

    Excellent

Tis a fine write, indeed. You have expressed your self quite well. Thanks for sharing this one with us.
Also, indirectly this reminds me of Marcus Tullus Cicero's famous speech before the ancient Roman Senate, in defense of the poet: Aulus Licinius Archias. For more information, just click on the following links:

    and these two lines:

You have said in this poem, what a lot of us here on AP havent. This is a wonderful tribute to AP's
Amera. I wish to thank you for doing this.
And my favorite part is :
~~In search of a lost adjective you may find kindness again
When you decant silver water to a small oak tree in your mind
It will be reflected perfectly on a waiting page
All alone and beside each one of us at the same time
Only in holiness our expressions will be as one~~
So that just showes you not two people are the same.☺
    Joe

  • Quite interesting...

And very good work, I might add. However, I found these two lines to be almost in mockery of the subject of your poem (just my own humble opinion):
"In search of a lost adjective you may find kindness again
When you decant silver water to a small oak tree in your mind"
I may have not understood your meaning, and I see the poet you've dedicated this poem to just absolutely loves it, so I rest my case. At any rate, I'm wishing you all the best in the contest!! Thank you for sharing your talents, Dear Poet!! Peace, xx Cyn

Very well put. Seems you hold her in as high regard as many of us here. In fact I have declared her a Saint. Saint Amera, due to the perfection with which she writes.

    Wonderful tribute.

Oh Wow! You have no idea how special this poem is to me. I don’t know how to thank you. You have included so many of the forms that I love to write in. I think this is the first free verse poem ever written for me and it’s absolutely beautiful.. I have a list on my page for poems written for me, I call it my “Treasure Room". I’m putting this poem in it so I can save it always. Thank you so much. &hug*

    Love,
    Amera
