In your wild freedom
those strong, rippling muscles,
strain against the winds,
for naught will break your spirit
A part of this land,
racing to earth's pulsing heartbeat,
there is a oneness,
a thundering symphony
of nature's song.
Restraint unacceptable
as heaving breaths
escape all hindrance.
Unfettered and footloose,
the beauty of this world
beyond mankind's imaginings,
spurs you on
to bounteous meadows,
calling to the herd
of lavish sanctuary;
here to rest in peace;
momentarily.

Strangely enough this made me a little sad, my poor old boy is out in a paddock 8 weeks from freedom's ride but I understand this so completely. Brilliantly written. Congratulations on this silver sweetheart.

This is breathtaking and though I have never witnessed the thundering brumbies, you took me there with this poem which pulses with their beauty. Congrats on the sterling horseshoe with this piece.
