Gizmo is His Name

I look at his face,
a black face you can't deny That beautiful face,
I put a blue  lace ribbon in his hair.
It looks like your grinning,
from ear to ear.
Your up to mischief,
I have to use a hankerchief,
on your eyes.
Your big brown eyes,
staring at me
as if to say I love you.
He takes to me kindly,
and he minds very well.
When I tell him to sit,
he sits
and wants to shake hands.
Hes a happy black baby,
he runs real fast.
Theirs no,
catching up to him.
He's having so much fun,
in the sun.
He trys to show you,

he is number one.

  • So cute! :D

Oh, wow!  I loooove dogs, and this poem just made me smile so big!

I am vision impaired and have had a black lab Leader Dog, he was also cute ...what's the other half of your dog's breeding?

    Great job!!!

Your adoration for your dog is very apparent. It appears you have a very jocund canine on your hands. Thank you for your entry.

  • Love the name "Gizmo" and who doesn't enjoy a poem about a pet. They enrich the lives of their owners in many ways.

I have a few poems on a few of my dogs that are dead now... My dad went to dog shows and handled dogs for a living... I was raised in a Kennel.. he showed German Shepherds ...
Your poem was nice with much grace...

Ah, I see you revised some of the wording but not the sentiment. I wish you well in the contest.

    Sincerely,
