Open up your windows
smell the fresh air
Go with wherever the wind blows
Look around everywhere
Don't bother scrubbing your bathtub
Let it overflow
Don't worry about your garden
just let it all grow
Cause people are houses
We've all got walls
Cement floors and
narrow halls
we've all got something to shelter
That no one else knows
Let your secrets just filter through
until you call it home
Don't clean out your closets
Don't paint your plastered walls
Rip up your carpet
let the dirty floors show
draw a picture of a flower
on your fogged up mirrors
let some nature show a little through
Your selfless halls
Cause people are houses
We've all got structure
Beyond these damaged floorboards
Nobody can tell us
What makes this house worth more
So throw out your dull furniture
And just relax
Don't be afraid to roam
and don't look back
Because people are houses
and only you can make it a home
Cause people are houses
We've all got structure
Beyond these damaged floorboards
Nobody can tell us
What makes this house worth more
So throw out your dull furniture
And just relax
Don't be afraid to roam
and don't look back
Because people are houses
and only you can make it a home

I think you did well with creating a surprisingly smooth flow when so many on here try to force rhyme. I love the comparison of people to houses, too, especially in the final two lines. Very clever, and very well done.
