Picture on the Fridge

A picture on the fridge
Decades later it still sits
Reminder of youth
and true love that never quits
A smile that stole my heart
Decades ago it still stays
Reminder of young love
and memories don't fade away

Memories in the heart
Years from now will still always be
Reminders of the youth
The laughter and fun reminding me
Memories never fade
Years from now you just look back
Remembering the past
Love of life that now you lack

Love of youth so kind
days from now will still be there
Lost for just a while
Inside knowing you always care
Love that starts to grow
months from now  forever more
found within your soul
Repairs the hurts once so sore

Picture on the fridge
Reminding me of yesteryear
Takes away the pain
knowing that you still are there
Your smile to remind me still
of love so pure and always true
Give me daily hope
That once was found in loving you
Picture on the fridge
One day will fade as time goes by
Memories will then replace
the smile I see in your eyes

Author notes

A picture had stayed on my fridge all these years, to remind me of my true love when I was young...a love that has not faded, the picture will one day fade, but the memory and the love in my heart will last a lifetime.

How many people wish they could find their first true love again?

I plan to revise this poem: please leave constructive criticism!
