Another young man has given his life.
Another young man has died for his country
And left behind a baby and a wife.
And, what the Good Lord giveth, the government took away,
With a sympathetic tear in their eye,
And they said he died for freedom, that he died for you and me,
But he was just another victim of the lie.
And, now, there's one gold star in a window.
One gold star, fallen out of our sky.
One more golden child in an early grave,
One more victim of the lie.
Another young woman has proven her courage.
Another young woman has made her folks proud.
Another young woman, who might have been married,
But she traded her veil for a star-spangled shroud.
And, they sent home a medal, that she'll never get to wear
And they buried her with military pride,
And, she never really got that chance to be all she could be.
She was just another victim of the lie.
And, now, there's one more star in a window.
One more star, fallen out of our sky.
One more golden child in an early grave.
One more victim of the lie.
And, they lied about the reasons, and they lied about the cost,
And every time they spoke a word they lied.
And, for every lie the told, another precious life was lost.
Just another victim of the lie.
Simply one more victim of the lie.
Author notes
This was written for all the men and women who joined up to help and were scammed into fighting and dying for a bunch of criminals who should all be in jail. The war in Iraq was foisted upon us all with talk of WMDs and involvement in 9/11 and the "imminent" threat to our security from some tinpot dictator who just happened to be sitting on a sea of oil. And now, more than 4000 young Americans, sons, daughters, fathers, mothers, whose only crime was to believe the things that they were told by their government, are dead. Thousands more live with permanent damage, both physical and mental, never to be the same. Probably the most incredible thing about this fraud is the number of people who still believe it to be just. We are all victims of the lie.

I am not going to argue with you about your opinions. I think the war was a mistake for how long it has gone on. WMD were there and moved I believe that with all of my heart. America was not prepared our armed forces severely downsized under the Clinton administration. How we go in and ask these young people to come to war is the sadness the lies told and promises made. Our reserves and guards were not prepared for this either this is where the nightmare really comes in over use of the forces we have a sure destruction of our people no matter what.
