My lover's eyes are sharpened stars
The color of a moonless night
His words, the nurture to my heart
His smiles the comfort of the mind
His long embrace, my sweet surrender
A comfort deep, an answered need
Strong's our bind for love empowers
All our thoughts and all our deeds
My lover's lips are bloom of cherries
His heart the swoon of angels soaring
This man, God knows, how much I cherish
A granted wish of soul's lamenting
But now -
My lover's joy is my heart's sigh
His love, my song of aches and tears
My lover, once whom I call mine
My lover's now another's dear
