Forced decisions,
upon ones heart
leaving it's guilty scar.
Another scar left,
from not giving in
and following beliefs,
of other minds.
Which scar to bear?

It is hard to follow one's own belief when others make it so hard on you. But in the end, those that standfast in their beliefs are stronger in the long run.

It can be painful for doing the things you believe in and also holding a set of values. There will always be pressure from many sources, it's good that you can resist even though there may be a price to bear such as a scar. I want to thank you for your entry into the following contest: "To Be Put On My Favorites List."

PS: Your entry has been blessed by the three wise clappers, but don't spend the whole nine points in one place(lol)!

So short yet so powerful. I find this beautiful and a good question, too.
-
that is an excellent question!
amazing poem but the line " of other minds" throws it off a smidge mabe try
" and not following the beliefs of the other little kids" or somethin
still marvilous it makes me think and i love that. -
This is interesting. I enjoyed it. I like the ideas of the scars. The last line is well thought out as is the whole thing. Good job and good luck! ~Des
