Chasing Dreams

The thrill of the chase,
has satisfied me,
but it often leads
to anxiety.
I look at my dreams
and they're all coming true.
I look at my life
from a new point of view.

I never thought
that this bliss could exist.
Lost in success
I no longer resist;
the confident blood
that runs through my veins.
It washes away,
all of my past's disdains.

I drink the dreams
that poor out of life's fountain.
I try to climb
to the top of the mountain.
I have escaped,
painful prisons of sorrow.
Ready to face,
all the trials of tomorrow.

Author notes

As each day passes, more of my dreams come true. I've said it to many and I will say it again, "there is no way that this week could get any better."

    Nicely done

This is a good read. Dreams coming true bring their own set of new issues.... this shows that without even really mentioning it. Very well worded.
Howsomever... the 'that' in the second verse, second line-- drop it! It takes away from the power of the line. Very nice poem though!
