My Valentine for a Secret Lover

It hasn't been very long
Since you first held my hand

It started playful, flirting here and there
But quickly we both realized
Just how perfect we could be.
It didn't take long at all,
Just a few weeks, in fact
For an amazing bond to develop:
A bond that can withstand it all
(The distance that separates us,
The drama, anger, and mischief
Of a Leprechaun who's lost her lucky charms.
The fear of discovery---or maybe its thrill
of a "secret" love we share.)
You've seen every side to me there is
-Yet you're still here-
You take away the sorrow
Of all that surrounds us
With a single word, note, or touch
You make it all just disappear

I wrote this to my boyfriend for Valentine's day. We met each other in the medical hold for the US Air Force Basic Training, and so for the first 2 and a half months of our relationship we were so close but couldn't really act on our feelings for each other, and we had to pretty much pass notes to have contact. There are a lot of secret "jokes" between he and I infiltrated throughout this poem so none of you will understand exactly the significance of it for he and I but hey...
I wrote it in a Valentine's Day card, and sealed it with a kiss. ^^
