It's dusty corridors
And windows unexplored
The doors were always locked
Not open anymore
Step back into the time
When the words were all in line
And our hearts were never broken
Merely misaligned
London street-lamps
Were the roses in bloom
Shining over streets
In November's gloom
But we never regretted
The pasts that might have changed
We just put it all
To the people we became
And now we're just two hands
Still together, bound in chains
Grown too close to separate
Our memory is all that really remains
Two hands on Memory Lane
Our souls had said goodbye
And we split our different ways
I was there to wave you off
As you got onboard that train
And the oceans always linger
No matter how tides run
I'll always see your eyes
Amidst the setting sun
Old notes and pressed-in flowers
Recollections of our lives
These reflections of times well spent
Together intertwined
Two hands on one dark road
Praying for memories to not corrode
And lingering for something more
These memories are forever ingrained
Two weary souls on Memory Lane
