I swear I didn't see this coming
Thought I'd have more time
So many things I wanted to do
So many things that I wanted to try
I'm sorry that I'm leaving you
It wasn't quite my choice
At least you get to read my goodbye
Writing was always my true voice
I wanted to spend more time laughing
Crying at your side
Please keep on living, don't stop too long
Just keep me in your mind
I know I wasn't thoughtful all the time
Courteous or kind
It wasn't that I didn't care
I couldn't always express what was inside
My biggest disappointment was
That I never got to change
And let myself go carefree
Or find a word that rhymes with 'change'
You made me happy all of you
I hope you all do well
But keep on living your lives
That's all this poem was meant to tell
I may be gone in body
But these words hold my soul
So feel me saying one last thing
Before this rhyme gets old
You hold the power in your hands
To change the world, yes
You can be greater than anyone
Much more than you guess.
Do well.

Fabulous!
i love the rhyme scheme and i found the "or find a word that rhymes with 'change' " to be really funny. This poem says everything it needs to say without rambling on and on, truly wonderful.
great work, keep writing, and thanks for entering!

Thanks so much for the Gold! Not expected at all, I have to admit. But I'm glad you liked it.

Lovely ;D
I'd applaud you on the ending alone, because I find it near impossible to wrap up a poem.
But -
Lovely!
