//For Gunnar and the end of it…//

“I am who am, and you should just accept that!  If you don’t have the balls to be my boyfriend in public, then maybe you shouldn’t be in private either.”
-Gunnar, Mémoires and Entaché

Now there’s a hundred challenging things a boy can do
Yes, I’d be interested.
And you’ve waved goodbye and held more tears in than anyone ever should…
Wait a minute…who is this?  What’s going on?
And all my sorrows pale to insignificance
You don’t understand!  I only meant to…
That’s why I love you.

A simple walk on the beach
a car, a rock
an edge
foaming surf, waves
whitecaps steaming screaming rising falling
screaming
a boy
maybe only 16
so young
he looks so young…
Why is he screaming?

Two boys
a car, a rock
an edge
foaming surf, waves
bodies steaming screaming rising
falling.
They’re killing him.
They hate him.
A rock will do the trick
because everyone knows
that this single boy poses a threat
to our entire social system.

Say goodbye to you…
Stop!  I’m sorry…I didn’t think
Wave goodbye to you…
Why do you hate me?

Gunnar Ivanov
Age: 16
Murdered because…
…he was gay.
