I know a girl,
Who laughs and smiles,
Sings and dances.
She is always the first,
To laugh at a joke,
And always the first,
To give some support.
She wears bright colors,
She shines with warmth,
She appears to be happy;
But if you look real hard,
You’ll see something missing.
Her aqua eyes,
Betray her laughing lies.
Her long sleeve shirts,
And floor length skirts,
Hide her fresh scars.
Her long black hair,
And choker-rose collar,
Hide his nightly attempts,
To tear her life apart.
