When you left,
I gently folded my heart
and placed it neatly on the passenger seat of your car...
without your knowledge,
so when the roads
curved and intersected,
or when the holes were so deep
that you felt lost,
you could open the roadmap
of my unswerving words
and possibly find some direction...
or comfort in knowing
that you'd always be able
to find your way home.
