inviting all to partake in this banquet she's prepared;
from delightful sunbursts of her quicksilver sky,
she pours shimmering liquid silver upon cool waters,
as the gallant forest’s ambiance in hues of pewter
lighten the mood with silver-throated song birds,
and I marvel at the variety of shades of molten silver
lining the clouds lazily floating away on this sunny day,
sailing over the endless mercurial horizon beyond
the feast of all feasts; won’t you come and dine with me?
Author notes
My chosen prompt is poem #2, Seeing the Shore, by Luci Shaw:
Seeing the Shore
At ebb tide the sands are stretched-
flat, damp, written on with rain, woven
with a warm air from the west.
As the tide moves in again,
each suceeding wave spells
a new boundary in a sweeping sentence
punctuated with foam. Its drawing back
pulls a silver foil across the slope.
The film flows, thins, clouds
like a breath - touched mirror, sinks
into the body of the shore.

How invitingly you in a metaphor with nature invite us to feast at her table of the best she can offer of her tableware of silver while she in colors splendour has us awesome in wonder at what she presents before us. You capitalize on the beauty of nature always in your poems, and this write is no exception. Imagery abounds from beginning to end...So tastefully and gently you invite us in to your world, and take us there...You have done excellently well with the prompt, friend, and I wish you well in the contest!

Beautiful words and lovely photograph. It immediately reminded me of Walter de la Mare's "Silver".

Nice:
Beauty is astounding. Love for God's creations is an awesome thing to reflect and capture in your writings. First, I would like to say, you're awesome. You wrote this poem with great detail. The picture was beautiful. And I do hope you excel in this contest. Best wishes.

As silver linings fall around us all, no matter what we percieve as we stop and pay attention. Mother Earth is as colourful in life as an artists pallete can be. The Golds of autumn, the whites of winter, the rainbows of spring and the yellows of summer, all come together and without the silver edges to embelish them all, we would be lost. An excellent write and worth spending thought on. Well Done, should be polished with the touch of gold.
