Another drink
another memory
I never imagined
That girl would be me
Reflections of a time
Not so long ago
Remnants of echoes
Of the softly whispered “no’s”
A soul colored with guilt
A friend betrayed
A ghost lingers
Of an innocence slain
And still there are nights
That these eyes fill with tears
Unable to forget
The mistake of last year
Another drink
The same old memory
But I have changed
This is a brand new me
