we can watch the earth spin

Missing image
meet me on the moon

we'll eat sunbeams
and moon rocks

and blow kisses that bounce through the air
like those funny little astronauts
moonwalking in big boots

... and spacesuits

we'll watch the earth spin on without us
and smile

just you and me and you
alone on the moon

Oh I wanted to sigh so much here, this is how we all wish love could be, sharing that something that no one else has shared. You have a beautiful writing style. Mind if I add you to my faves. Best to you hun

nice, Dee, and funny picturing you in over-sized astronaut boots and moon-bouncing while being such a romantic... nice mental image, I shall file it away for future use... and hey, I see a 'honeymoon retreat' business opportunity looming ahead... spend your first night together in sub-earth gravity... oooooo... think of the possibilities... a moon resort...

    • i could always resort to just plain "mooning" you!! hehehehe... once, twice, three times a lady, although gravity could help me out a little in the moon department these days - i am almost 34 you know

maybe the moon will become the new 'Florida' (where many old couples go to retire here...) who knows, with less gravity, maybe people will live until they're 200...! (a good selling point for our moon resort)...

'...and blow kisses that bounce in the air...'
That was so cute! And so romantic when you two are in a world of your own, letting the earth spin without you...Nicely written. =)

    so whimsical, so fun

nothing like spacesuits ( you don't even have to go to the bathroom to pee hehe)

  • The imagery here is wonderful. Such feeling you portray here. Ah, there is nothing more beautiful than a silver moon, don't you think?  I found this romantic too. Keep writing.

    l.o.l.

this is funny and cute! a short but clever little write, another good piece lady..

  • I think we could all use some moon time and astro boot kisses sometimes. You have such a whimsical and beautiful tone to your poetry. Lovely.

This is made even cuter by the picture that is with it. Such a carefree innocent feel to it. I love when emotions are uncomplicated and pure, don't you?

An adorable, almost childlike piece. This feels almost like a piece meant to be read to a child, which is a cute touch. The flow was very good, and the well spaced rhyme scheme was effective.

  • A great painting and I am beginning to see that your work has a sense of freedom to it. I'm faving you so I don't forget where you are.

    • thank you so much for the lovely compliments! i'm chuffed you like what you've read. i don't really know what i'm doing half the time... i just go with the flow . looking forward to checking out your page too

mm, i loved this poem! (: you have true talent, it practically beams through this poem! great great job. (:

  • perhaps though a date on the moon would not be so happy and smiling, i believe that there is no atmosphere to the place! a good poem

    • hahaha.. very good but i AM the atmosphere, my friend. i can send kisses in astronaut suits! what more could a man want?? xx

to have a date on the moon itself
    smiling at this idea...lovely
although I was wondering about the
    astronaut attire

    • i can hold my breath for an awfully long time. i'd risk taking my helmet off to steal a kiss or two, for the right man of course
