"One quick peek, I promise it won't hurt.
That tooth has to come out honey."
I winced as he moved it around.
Then concentrate on the picture above, a bunny.
"Why would there be a bunny on the ceiling?"
I ask him aloud, still confused.
"It's to keep you from thinking about the pain."
He smiled, more than amused.
A yank and a pull later,
that stubborn tooth was out.
Then it was time for the floride.
I could do nothing but pout.
Sweeping across my teeth,
cleaning them this way and that.
I stayed quiet and looked at that bunny,
not wanting to be a brat.
Once it was all done,
I ran my tongue across my teeth.
Cherries, it tasted like cherries!
And nothing like the tooth underneath.
I sat up in the dentist's chair.
My gum still bleeding.
I was finally done.
It was time for us to be leaving.
Walked out of the dentist office,
thinking it was quite funny.
That I'd never forget blood,
cherries, and the look of that bunny.
