Remember how you really felt fantastic
When you were but a bouncing baby boy,
And with your cherub cheeks and limbs elastic,
You bounded on the bed and jumped for joy.
Recall how you would laugh a lot when little,
How you were once ebullient and blithe,
When you weren’t so inflexible and brittle,
But limber and adaptable and lithe.
How far from being fossilized and frigid,
But a like a playful pet about to pounce,
You once were willowy, not rough and rigid,
Like some old brittle ball that’s lost its bounce.
Remember how you were enthusiastic,
And how your lovely leaps had lively spring,
How you were pliable as supple plastic,
And not some stiffened and un-giving thing.
Recall how you possessed a bubbly buoyance
And felt elated like a light balloon;
And far from being a nasty old annoyance
Who’s cynical and wizened like a prune,
How you were mirthful at the very marrow
And filled with fun in bountiful amounts,
Before you grew close-minded and so narrow
You shriveled your ability to bounce.
Remember how you rapidly rebounded,
When you were young and still knew how to yield,
And how your boundless energy astounded,
Before you grew so callous, closed and sealed.
Recall how you were happy and light-hearted
And graceful as the grass is green and wild,
Before your bright delightfulness departed,
And gruesome scrooge replaced the cheerful child.
Remember boyish joy that was unending,
And if you’d find again those youthful founts,
Let love unloose what’s brittle and unbending,
And life will bring you back your springy bounce.

You come up with an idea and run with it... and run, and run, and run!

Creative!
i really love the message you tell through this poem. It stands out for sure. The poem speaks 'integrity' to me. I feel the repetition at the end of each stanza was effective.
