I did it,
I overcame the strife,
I beat the odds,
and I changed my life,
I worked my ass off
and this is my reward.
I have moved on,
from all the tension in my life,
from all regrets that I bound myself to,
from all the doubt that stood in my way,
I spent so much time trying,
now I get what I deserve.
Today is the day,
where the past is swept aside,
a new future presents itself,
a new vision is realized,
a time when I can sigh with relief,
to say that it was well worth the fight.
The dawning of a new era,
where new opportunities arise,
where a new independence is born,
when I finally become an adult,
when I will prepare
for life's next big struggle.

This poem is an expression of a brand new era beginning in my life and a tribute to my college acceptance to California University of Pennsylvania. I spent 3 years striving for this goal, and 7 or 8 years impatiently waiting for this success. As of the fall, new life shall begin with a new environnment and a new set of circumstances, but most importantly...

Very strong
I love how the first verse makes me think the person died almost--went on to his reward (which he did). Just my feeling, put a space before the last line in each verse. Make that statement stand out in 100 point bold face type that way. As it is I love it!
