Paw a word from the page and let your tongue
taste its meanings, feel the flavor drip down
the back of your throat, heat your heart
as it passes. I want to find you stretched back
letting my rhythms bathe you, so every cell sings.
Hear your sacred breezes puff and scald the skin.
You nibble up evocations of desire from the promise
found in descriptions of touch. When at last the final
word has released its echoes to shimmer and resonate --
a bell you want to never stop pealing, sending
waves of "come hither's" through your blood --
you let your hands follow the path of memories
formed by imagination and moan to have them be real.
Love knows no barrier. We are caged by bone and flesh,
struggle with distance and every other reasonable
excuse we know, the chains we wrap about us.
I know.

Author notes
I realized I do have a fetish. Words and their sound. I want it and when having sex they can have a powerful effect on me. I demand that my words have power. I would hope it shows. The color Scarlet -- it is woven through out and you should be able to see it. I like strong colors as accents. I am a designer. I know.

Wonderful, a great recognition that fetish can cover just about anything and the poetry is superb too. We are marking each round anonymously but there is no problem spotting the style here. A great poem from the clear leader so far.
Thank-you for the continuing support in the series.

I had a horrible time getting to this poem, then I read a poem by Abcessed that caused me to be inspired. Funny how it only takes the right spark to set the spirit afire. Again my thanks for the gold.

I am speechless...
You always seem to weve words that flow softly when spoken. I can visualize their effect in my mind as I read this. Fantastic read here.

Thanks. Passion, sensuality, erotic feelings are all set on flame, I believe, by the way the mind reacts. This gives so much power to words.
I use to work with teens and in trying to show how preconceives and attitude control response I would say imagine if someone you thought was gross touched you on the cheek. Notice all the thoughts and responses that occur. Now imagine it is someone you love and adore touching you exactly the same way. Notice! The touch was the same, but your response was totally different.
Thanks for the great review.
Peace,
Tom B.

WOW!
This is marvelous Tom, every nuance you've delightfully penned, till the room is spinning and my heart rate starts it's pitter patter thing it does.
THIS IS wonderful.

"you let your hands follow the path of memories
formed by imagination...evocations of desire from the promise found in descriptions of touch...Love knows no barrier...."
There are poems within poems in this write, tomis. Pulse is strong, desire and passion thrumming in the lines, and I think how we tend to reflect the lifeblood of nature in it's primal song. Your choice of words is interesting, sharp-edged with a dangerous animal magnetism.
I found myself glad that love slips all the surly bonds, and leaves a radiance to soften the scarlet and undo the chains, and still perpetuates the excitement of intimacy. ... provocatively warm.

We create our relationships, we make room for love to blossom and yet, too often, we come up with our web of reasonableness to prevent it from growing full blown. I, simply, laid out the language to evoke the response. It is amazing how strongly people responded. Love without risk -- a dream.

trembling!
that is what i feel, a trembling from within, this poem speaks so sensually, your words are penned her so beautifully how can one not react to them!

-

Not react, by having no feelings. I felt blessed to create this poem. It speaks on a deeper level than lust or simple desire. It catches something that lights a fire. I hope.
Thanks for sharing the pleasure it brings to you. I could ask for no more.

Eloquent Thoughts on LoveMaking
You are a weaver of mystical magic, when it comes to words...I truly saw red...The heat, desires, and passion is all here...in between these lines I could feel your dreams at work...total erotica with class.....an excellent read...my fave part:
"feel the flavor drip down
the back of your throat, heat your heart
as it passes. I want to find you stretched back
letting my rhythms bathe you, so every cell sings"
This is red hot oral delight....
Write ON!....novy

the reader definitely feels the power of your words. It's one of those poems that play upon the senses. Enjoyed this

There are many languages spoken within each of us. Words are the most public. There are many laguages we speak well and many we don't. When someone translates one we speak poorly, it feels intimate -- as if we are not alone. (Part of the hidden rules of magic)
Thank you for sharing your joy. Joy shared is always multiplied.
Peace and Light,
Tom B. -
There are many languages united in a person and often we speak poorly many of our own. But, we are always listening for words that speak to our senses and perhaps let us know we are not alone in the arcane understanding of this expression of the hidden self. This sings to the spirit of touch, the need to be desired and the understanding that intimacy is often desired but rarely cherished when found.
Thanks for stopping by and sharing a small part of the joy you found. It is a gift.
Peace & Light,
Tom B.

Great
Hello fellow linguaphile. I love it when people have a love affair with words and traslate it onto "figurative" page. My mark of good poetry is anything I can relate to, and you have succeeded in making me smile.
Well written

Thank you. I have a poem on what I seek when I read a poem called "On Reading Poetry" that you might enjoy as well. It is in my list of Me and Poetry as this poem is. I like the magic and power of words and try to use them wisely.

Superb
'tis a very fine write, indeed. You expressed your thoughts quite well, indeed. You might be interested in what Marcus Tullus Cicero, roman philosopher/poet/lawyer, etc., had to say in defense of a poet, Aulus Licinius Archias, before the ancient Roman Senate, it is on my profile page, however, I can also give you a link.
It is in this book: "Cicero Selected Political Speeches, ISBN 0-14-044214-6

Part of my time in high school was taking Latin. I never really got it until I started translanting the poetry of Catullus. You might say he was one of my early teachers since I wanted to be connotatively and denotatively correct. I would have love to have caught the meter but Latin lends itself to one pulse and English another. I will check out the Cicero. I have used his "I will not talk about..." formula in my own forays into politics.
Glad you enjoyed my simple words and impulse. May I continue to entertain.
Peace & Light,
Tom B.

That was the idea. There is magic in language and when I am at my best I hope the spells I cast run deep into the heart of the reader. Art touches and transforms. I seek to be more than a technican who can communicate with words. I want to be the artist who lifts and sets flight the soul of my reader.

This was fantastic. I think this might be my favorite so far. It is amazying how your words express such vividness. I love it.

The goal is to always, always, move the reader. Have them awaken and see the world differently from what you wrote. I pray to succeed one day.

This reminds of the feeling a reader gets when you stumble across a poem, so good, that you have to read it aloud... over and over. As you read, your mouth forms the words and your brain absorbs the feelings surrounding them. When you reach the end, you sigh.. touched to the core. You did that with this write

When language touches us, ignites dreams, it flows into our blood. This poem is about touch and touch takes us to another level. Thanks so much for the compliments.

Having a fetish with words and sounds is never a bad thing. Its the main thing that the reader pays attention to. The descriptions you used in this were amazing and fit so well with eroticism. All the basic parts of sex you turned into a beautiful dance, bringing it back to the sacred act it once was and still should be. It made my nerves dance reading your words.
This is definitley my new favorite by you. It made me sing for more

This was in response to another poet's poem called "Your hands never lie." I found this poem just flowing out of me after reading hers. I figure you take inspiration where you can get it. Thanks for enjoying this. I want the magic my worlds hold to place my readers under a spell.

Good story and flow. A few spelling or typo issues, and the wording comes off as awkward in a few places. Really liked your work before, I just came back to the site after a two year absence. Will be visiting. I used to be known as industrial shaman. Please send a link to the piece you feel is your best erotica.
-
-
The human mind demands storys. Poetry is not a story that rhymes. I found one typo, if there are more, then tell me. Cleaned up a few things. Lyricism is big with me. I read at open mics and want a good oral presentation.
My best erotica? That is debatable. Very. I even change my mind often. I am the worst person to ask. I have lists of erotica and that is about the best I can do. Forgive me. check out the list this poem is in.
Peace & Light,
Tom B.
