que tu m’as sauvée

tu me donnais comme cadeau
un morceau du toi
et quand tu avais faim
je te donnais a manger
la sécurité entière de mes bras

parce que tu m’as sauvée

Author notes

My first-ever rhyming piece in French. The French version flows a lot better than the following translation:

that is, yourself

i have written something that rhymed
in your hair
let us call it a song
and let us call it a love song
but let me sing
the way we would both love

that you have saved me
from a heart as lonely as the cannibals' abattoir
that i shall kiss you
as loud as the organ of the musician
who accompanies me when nobody stands beside me
(that is, yourself)

and when i felt such cold
that you could not imagine
you gave me as gift
a piece of yourself
and when you felt hunger
i fed you
the whole security of my arms

because you have saved me
from a heart as lonely as the cannibals' abattoir
and so i shall kiss you
as loud as the organ of the musician
who accompanies me when nobody stands beside me
(that is, yourself)

i have written something that rhymed
in your hair
let us call it a song
and let us call it a love song
and let us call it a love song for someone kingly
(that is, yourself)

Honesty.

Since I don't understand much French, I'm so glad you posted the English translation, and I have to say, I am pleasantly surprised. It's not easy to translate language and make it just as lovely, as intended. Different meter perhaps, but still lyrical. What a love song.

Really? I'm also pleasantly surprised that you enjoyed the English version at all But yes, I did try... Thanks a lot for your comment - coming from you, it means especially much

p.s I tried performing it and added that, but then I'm not sure if it would make a difference since you said you don't really speak French.

who cares, somethings spoken only need to be pysically felt and heard, not necessarily understood...
        it's sexy. lol.
