i sit here staring into the mirror as time slowly passes
begging silently for the reflection to change
from the plain, ugly face that stares blankly back at me
into the face of a true, natural beauty
for even with the makeup, the ugliness shows through
which, in turn, causes another type of ugliness to form
the ugliness of words and actions
used to cover up the pain and hurt felt inside
i sit here staring into the mirror as time slowly passes
asking my reflection silently, the thought that won't go away
why must you look like me?

Just like your poetry you are not ugly. Although I do understand that the feelings of ugliness sometimes over power the feelings of beauty, especially when you've been hurt.

why do u look at yourself and think ugly? You are a natural beauty hun. That is the simple truth and i know you don't beleive a word i just said but you know what i don't care becasue it's true!! You are beautiful inside and out! Either way it was a good write.
