people say that true beauty is located within
that it doesn't matter what the outside looks like
but in this day and age, it is quite the opposite of that
no one takes the time to get to know the inside
for they cannot get past the outer ugliness
my inner beauty is hidden behind my unbeautiful petals
my stem is protected by the thorns that i've been forced to grow
i am a rare black rose

    i must say i can understand this because i view myself the same way. i do not beleive i am pretty or good looking in anyway for the fact that i am not. Yet when i hear you say that u are not beautiful that just makes me think "so how ugly am i?" because you are a "true beauty" in more ways then one.
