MY soft purr
Comes from the gates to the unknown
I prowl alone
For this haven, it is my home
MY eyes flash
In the setting rays of sun
The lost and lonely have arrived now,
To my place of rest and fun
Those that loved life
Plead for renewal
While those who suffered
Watch their solemn funeral
The scholar,
Like small children gather round
To hear my wisdom, for to them,
It is an excitingly sweet sound
The Children that arrive
With a beloved, lost pet they are paired
For I know and love them well
And wish them not to be scared
Those that lusted after
The darker points of life
Can touch my silky black coat
And tell me of their strife
I am the panther
That rules the after world
And because you have asked me
My knowledge I have unfurled
Author notes
