Rock Bottom

Red rivers
Overrun the oceans
Childlike dreams
Keep hidden

Black skies
Over exposed storms
Thoughts filled with tears
Thoughts filled with fears
Only to find hopeless
Misery

  • Been there, done that, emptied the Kleenex box as dozen times. Well written... and a poem we can all identify with.

  • Whoa!

Sure sounds like rock bottom to me. This is very visual & with powerful metaphor. I can identify. Hope I don't have stormy dreams.

Powerful write. I liked how you began this and how you ended this. It makes me think of how innocent and happy life can seem when people first start living in the world and of how that innocence can be shattered once people see all the suffering that goes on in the world. Thanks for sharing and keep that pen flowing.

  • I can relate to this feeling and you capture and I love how you expressed it. I love your last stanza and the line over exposed storms and thoughts filled with tears and thoughts filled with fears.
